Several Rocky Point High School student-musicians will take part in regional and state music festivals this winter.
Erin Damers (mixed chorus), Daniel Infranco (band), Lisa LaFountaine (orchestra), Thomas Loomis (mixed chorus) and Casey Williamson (women’s choir) will represent the district at the NYSCAME/SCMEA All-County Music Festival at Half Hollow Hills High School East in November. Additionally, Erin (women’s choir), Daniel (symphonic band), Thomas (mixed choir) and Casey (mixed choir) will be featured as All-State musicians at the NYSSMA Winter Music Conference in Rochester this December.
The students were selected for these honors based on their outstanding scores at last year’s NYSSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival, along with teacher recommendations. The four All-State musicians each received a perfect score on their Level 6 NYSSMA solos, which, according to their music teachers, is true testament to their musical talents and dedication to their craft.
