TITLE: Assistant Superintendent, Probationary 12-Month Position
LOCATION: Rocky Point UFSD District Office
EFFECTIVE: July 3, 2019

REQUIREMENTS:
The individual should possess:
Commitment to improving outcomes for all students
Excellent communication, human relations and strong leadership qualities
Ability to articulate a clear vision and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community to achieve district goals
Previous experience as a districtwide or building administrator preferred
Appropriate NYS certification – SDA or SDL  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for assisting the Superintendent of Schools in all aspects of district administration
Key member of district leadership team
Oversee various districtwide responsibilities including recruitment, organization, and appraisal of staff
Assign and schedule instructional and non-instructional staff in conjunction with building and district-level administrators
Maintain positive and respectful relationships with parents, parent groups, school volunteers and outside agencies
Participate in district-wide activities, in-service workshops and committees, as appropriate
Make recommendations on appropriate staffing levels and collaborate with the Superintendent of Schools and School Business Official in preparing the annual district budget
Assist in ensuring the implementation of all rules and regulations of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools 
Maintain all records and reports, as required
Fulfill all responsibilities prescribed by labor, education and other applicable laws
Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools

• Substantial knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Excellent communication, human relations and strong leadership qualities
• Ability to articulate a clear vision and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community to accomplish collective goals
• Extensive knowledge of elementary instructional practices and knowledge of current NYS Common Core Standards and Assessments
• Experience as an elementary/middle school teacher and/or administrator 
• Appropriate NYS certification –SAS, SDA, SBL

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day building administration including APPR and observations
• Key member of instructional leadership team
• Ensures a safe and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline as necessary, and enforces school policy
• Assigns and schedules teachers and students in conjunction with the principal 
• Maintains positive and respectful relationships with parents, parent groups, school volunteers and outside agencies
• Participates in district-wide activities, in-service workshops and committees, as appropriate
• Provides for a positive, high-expectations/high-support academic environment for students and staff
• Assists the principal in the preparation of the budget
• Works with respective department coordinators/chairs
• Assists in ensuring the implementation of all rules and regulations of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools or his representative
• Maintains all records and reports, as required
• Performs all duties prescribed by law, e.g., fire and other safety regulations
• Works with the building and district administration on issues related to guidance, special education, budget, curriculum and testing
• Assists the principal and presents information to community groups, employees of the district, and the general public
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent or his designee

LOCATION:  Rocky Point Middle School

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in raising academic achievement for all students
  • Extensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Excellent communication, human relations and leadership qualities
  • Ability to articulate a clear vision and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community to accomplish collective goals
  • Extensive knowledge of middle school instructional practices and knowledge of current NYS standards and assessments
  • Previous experience as a secondary school principal preferred, secondary school leadership experience required
  • Appropriate NYS certification –SAS, SDA, SBL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers the overall school program
  • Supervises and evaluates all teaching and support staff within the school
  • Makes use of a variety of structures and strategies to provide instructional leadership for the school
  • Organizes and interprets student data, designs and conducts professional development sessions
  • Conducts walk-throughs, facilitates professional learning communities
  • Assigns and schedules teachers and students in conjunction with the guidance staff
  • Maintains positive and respectful relationships with parents, parent groups, school volunteers and outside agencies
  • Participates in district-wide activities, in-service workshops, and committees, as appropriate
  • Provides for a positive, high-expectations/high-support academic environment for students and staff
  • Prepares the school budget and works with Assistant Superintendent
  • Works with respective department directors and chairs to select educational materials to meet the needs of students and teachers
  • Works with Central Office Staff to coordinate processes for the effective functioning of the school
  • Maintains student discipline, order and uniformity of organization
  • Ensures the implementation of all rules and regulations of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools or his representative
  • Maintains all records and reports as required
  • Performs all duties prescribed by law, e.g., fire and other safety regulations
  • Reads, analyzes and interprets general professional journals, financial reports and governmental regulations
  • Writes reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Presents information to community groups employees of the District and the general public
  • Defines problems collects data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or his designee
  • Other duties as assigned

TITLE: NOCTI Cosmetology Performance Test Evaluator
LOCATION: Rocky Point High School
EFFECTIVE: On or about May 1, 2019
SALARY: $48.00 per hour as per RPTA Appendix B

QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of three years recent experience in the cosmetology field; Ability to objectively evaluate cosmetology skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The NOCTI Cosmetology Performance Test Evaluator will:
• Review the Evaluator guide for the NOCTI Cosmetology Exam to become familiar with the participant and evaluator instructions, scoring criteria, and procedures for test administration.
• Work with the NOCTI Site Coordinator to verify the assessment location is set up properly.
• Monitor participants during the testing session.
• Protect participants from disturbances and distractions as they complete the performance jobs.
• Evaluate and record each participant’s performance in accordance with the criteria provided in the Evaluator Guide for the specific assessment being administered.
