The Rocky Point School District Board of Education had a special person to congratulate and thank at the June 14 meeting. Mr. David Cook, a custodian at Rocky Point High School, was met with cheers and accolades for his recent lifesaving incident, when he used the Heimlich Maneuver to prevent Rocky Point High School freshman Avery Ward from choking. One person in particular was especially moved by his heroic actions – Board of Education trustee Ms. Jessica Ward, Avery’s mother. Thank you Mr. Cook!
