Students in Grades 6-12: Rocky Point Day Time Capsule Suggestions

Dear Rocky Point MS and HS Students:
 
            As part of our first annual Rocky Point Day on May 19, 2024, we will be filling a TIME CAPSULE with items that represent school and life in the year 2024. The time capsule will be displayed at the High School until 2049, when it will be opened at our 25th annual Rocky Point Day. We will add new items and re-seal the time capsule every 25 years.
 
             We will be allowing each grade to vote on and select ONE item to contribute to the time capsule. If you have a suggestion that would be cool/interesting/reflective of 2024, please submit it using this form by APRIL 30, 2024: https://forms.gle/72ade2mSGSKzQYCy8
 
  Please keep the following in mind:
  • Your suggested item should be school-appropriate. There should be no inappropriate language or messaging included as part of your suggested item.
  • Your item can be 1 cubic foot in size maximum (1 foot x 1 foot x 1 foot).
  • Items must be completely dry.
  • Items should not include staples, paper clips, or rubber bands, as these can corrode over time.
               You may only suggest one item. Once we receive your suggestions, we will create a short list of possible items for each grade. We will then have each grade vote on their chosen item. 
 
                Note: If your grade level still has space left after putting your top voted item in the capsule, we will try to include more items in the order of votes received.

Rocky Point UPK Lottery Form

Rocky Point Union Free School District Universal Prekindergarten Program

For the 2024-2025 school year, there are tentatively 66 half-day program seats and 66 full-day program seats available pending NYS guidance and final allocations. The lottery drawing will be held in mid-June 2024, pending NYSED funding approval. Preschool participation has yet to be determined and specific school placement or AM/PM seats for half-day students cannot be guaranteed.  The Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School will not be a placement option.  The deadline to submit an application for the UPK lottery is May 24, 2024.

In order to register for Universal Prekindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year, children must be four (4) years of age on or before December 1, 2024. Please complete the pre-registration survey below in order to be included in the lottery drawing.

NOTE: Students that are eligible to attend Kindergarten in fall 2024 may not register for the PreK lottery. Three year-olds are not eligible for the lottery.
