Board of Education Reorganizes for 2026-27 School Year

The Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on July 7 at Rocky Point High School, where members took their oaths of office and elected new leadership for the coming year.
Among the evening's highlights was the swearing in of Nathan Watkis as the board's student representative for the upcoming school year. Nathan took his oath of office before family, district staff and community members in attendance, formally welcoming him into his new role representing the student body's voice at Board meetings.
Erin Walsh and Cortney Weisman were also sworn in during the reorganization meeting, each affirming to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of New York, and to faithfully discharge their duties as members of the Rocky Point Board of Education.
Following the swearing-in of trustees, the board proceeded to elect its leadership for the coming year. Stacey Lasurdo was elected president of the Rocky Point Board of Education and Michael Lisa was elected vice president.
