Rocky Point Honors Board of Education President

The Rocky Point School District recognized Board of Education President Jessica Ward for her seven years of dedicated service to the district during the June 15 Board of Education meeting.
Ward, who served as Board President for the past four years, was honored for her leadership, commitment to students and contributions to numerous district initiatives. Throughout her time on the board, she helped guide the district’s strategic planning efforts, supported the expansion of American Sign Language, championed the transition to a nine-period day and advocated for the continued growth of music and athletic opportunities for students.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott O’Brien praised Ward’s dedication and student-centered leadership.
“Jessica has led with integrity, compassion and a steady focus on what matters most – our students,” Dr. O’Brien said. “Rocky Point is a better place because of your leadership and your commitment to our students.”
Dr. O’Brien also highlighted Ward’s role in helping bring Rocky Point Day to life, noting that her vision helped create a community tradition that will unite students, staff and residents in years to come.
The district extends its sincere gratitude to Ward for her years of service and dedication to the Rocky Point school community.
