Rocky Point School District Board of Education is proud to welcome Rocky Point High School senior Valentina Bruno as its first-ever student member for the upcoming school year.

She has been elected to serve as a nonvoting, ex officio member of the board, representing the Rocky Point student body.

Valentina is a well-rounded leader at Rocky Point, balancing athletics, music, academics and volunteer work. She is a member of the soccer team, competes in track and field with a focus on shot put and discus, and plays travel soccer. She is active in the arts as part of the marching band, concert band, symphony and pit orchestra. Beyond school activities, Valentina volunteers her time at Mather Hospital and with the unified basketball program. Academically, she is a member of the Math, National and Science honor societies. 

“I thought this was a great opportunity to represent my peers, and I am excited to do just that,” Valentina said.
