Rocky Point High School has been named a School of Distinction for the 2024-2025 school year by The New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

To be recognized as a School of Distinction, all Rocky Point’s varsity teams earned the Scholar-Athlete Team Award during their respective sports seasons. The school is one of only 110 schools across the state and one of only 17 schools in Section 11 who have earned the honor.

The purpose of the awards is to unite athletic departments in challenging their teams to achieve a statewide academic honor.  

Athletic Director Jonathon Rufa will represent the school to receive a commemorative award at the local athletic director workshop this fall.
