Thespian Dinner at Rocky Point High School
It has been a busy year for the Thespian Society at Rocky Point High School! Following three amazing productions, which received many recognitions from the East End Arts Teeny Awards, the students had their final performance of the year, the annual Thespian Dinner.
An international honor society for high school theater students, The Thespian Society recognizes and rewards students for their achievements in theater arts, both on stage and behind the scenes. The society encourages students to continue developing their skills and passion for the performing arts.
The Thespian Society hosted their annual Thespian Dinner earlier this spring. This tradition is a wonderful evening fundraiser featuring food from local restaurant C.P. LaMannos and musical performances from the students. Students perform a variety of solos, duets and small group numbers from movies and Broadway shows, and this year included a performance of “Summer Nights,” featuring all the members of the Thespian Society, and “I Lived,” featuring the senior members. During the dinner, new members Ashley Bernier, Ellie Faulkner, Lucas Gago and Melody Guzman were inducted into the Thespian Society. The graduating seniors were also given a heartfelt farewell slideshow, which featured photos from their time growing up in Rocky Point Schools and the Theater.
“I have truly enjoyed doing the Thespian Dinner for the past four years. It was always something I looked forward to at the end of the year,” senior Sebastian Garske said.
