Matteo Gravinese Honored at Superintendents Association Luncheon
Rocky Point High School Class of 2025 valedictorian Matteo Gravinese was among the top Suffolk County high school students honored at the Suffolk County School Superintendents Association’s annual Valedictorians Luncheon on May 29. The SCSSA traditional luncheon honors the exceptional achievements of Suffolk County’s highest-achieving graduates. The luncheon was attended by school district superintendents, high school principals, special guests, the valedictorians and their parents.
With a welcome from SCSSA President-Elect Dr. Timothy T. Eagan and guest speakers SCSSA President Dr. Harold Dean and Dr. Carl Lejuez, executive vice president and provost at Stony Brook University, the students were encouraged to remain true to themselves. Dr. Eagan congratulated the valedictorians on their outstanding accomplishments and encouraged them to approach their college education with the same passion that got them to their valedictorian status.
Matteo and the other valedictorians were each called to the stage, accompanied by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott O’Brien and Rocky Point High School Principal Mr. James Moeller to receive a certificate of recognition, a plaque and a copy of Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”
