Six Rocky Point High School students were selected to be participants or alternates in the 2024 New York State School Music Association’s All-State Ensembles.

Seniors Maya Alexander (Treble Chorus, Soprano 2) and Angelina DeRosa (Mixed Chorus, Soprano 1) and junior Yuuki Donnelly (Symphony Orchestra, Violin 1) were selected to perform at the event that will take place in Rochester, NY Dec. 5-8.

Senior Derek Bergmann (Chorus, Bass) and juniors Olivia Carley (Chorus, Alto) and Ava Jimenez (Band, Oboe) were selected as alternates for the prestigious high school festival.

The six are among thousands of students who auditioned for this honor last spring at the NYSSMA All-State Solo and Ensemble Evaluation Festivals throughout the state. All-State selections are confirmed in September, and the participating students are responsible for learning and preparing the selections of college-level music prior to attending the All-State ensemble rehearsals during the December festival.
