Rocky Point High School’s Virtual Enterprise class is learning about the world of business in a hands-on way this year, having created their own firm from the ground up.
As a result of their dedication and hard work, the business – Electrified Learning – recently captured top honors at the 2015 Long Island Virtual Enterprises Trade Show. During the event, the students competed against 39 other virtual enterprise firms from across Long Island and defended their business plan before a panel of judges. They spoke about their software plug-in that transforms tablets and laptops into educational learning tools. As a result of their presentation, the team won third place in the business brochure competition.
Virtual Enterprise provides students with the opportunity to create a business from the ground up. Students are able to test their ideas by selling their products to students from other Virtual Enterprise firms across the world.
