Dear Parents and Guardians:
I am writing to provide you with update from my prior message regarding the written threat in a bathroom stall at the Rocky Point Middle School. Since the date referenced in the threat is Saturday, December 13, and because this is an active and ongoing investigation, to err on the side of caution, the district has decided to cancel all activities, events and building use throughout the district this weekend.
I apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this might have caused, however, the safety and well-being of all of our students, staff, community members and visitors is our number one priority. In order to maintain a safe environment the district will continue to fully investigate this, or any, threat.
