Administrators, teachers and support staff at FJC welcomed students and their parents during Kindergarten Orientation Day for a first-hand glimpse of their new school surroundings and the opportunity to meet staff and classmates prior to the official first day of school. Led by principal Jason Westerlund and Assistant Principal Linda Greening, the parents and students listened to the structure of the school year, including arrival and dismissal, before touring the building to check out the gym, library, cafeteria and classrooms. In addition to answering questions from parents, Westerlund reiterated the district and school’s continuing efforts to provide a positive educational experience. The morning events led to a fun ending: ice cream treats and meeting new friends on the school’s playground.
