Rocky Point High School recognized 12 seniors at a commemorative college
commitment day to celebrate the next chapter of their academic and
athletic careers. Hosted by Charles Delargy, the district’s director of
health, physical education, intramurals and athletics, the event brought
the students, family members, coaches and administrators together to
celebrate their achievements. Mr. Delargy shared highlights of each
students’ high school athletic career before inviting them to each sign a
pledge to continue to be stellar representatives of the Rocky Point
school community.
The Rocky Point school community congratulates the following students
for their dedication to the pursuit of higher education and the
continuation of an active lifestyle while engaging in college sports.

Mr. Delargy also invited seven seniors who committed to play a sport in
college during the National Collegiate Athletic Association Signing Day
ceremony in November. The students – all women who will play lacrosse in
college – were also lauded for their accomplishments and congratulated
on their high school career highlights.
The students are Jenika Cuocco – Drexel University, Lea Henke –
Dominican College, Samantha King – Molloy College, Kelly Logue – Siena
College, Gabriella Smith – Southern Connecticut University, Sydney
Strohmayer – Dominican College and Kaleigh Wilgeroth – Wingate
University.
