Kindergarten Author Study!

Students Standing In The Classroom thumbnail185207
Kindergarten students in Nicole Fisher and Stacie Zumpol’s class are busy continuing to improve their reading skills. The FJC students’ latest author study revolved around Caldecott Honor Award winner Mo Willems. The children studied the famed author’s style of writing and recreated many of his charming characters such as Piggie, Gerald and the Pigeon. “Cross curricular lessons were implemented and the children truly enjoyed using Mo Willems’ characters in all aspects of learning,” Ms. Fisher said. The students culminated the project with their own Mo Willems Writers Workshop inspired stories.
