Words of kindness and appreciation and fond memories were shared at a ceremony honoring Rocky Point School District legendary lacrosse coach Mr. Mike Bowler, where two plaques were unveiled in his memory.
With an introduction by Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics Mr. Charles Delargy and followed by “Danny Boy” performed on bagpipes, the socially distant event welcomed Mr. Bowler’s family, school administrators, coaches, members of the Rocky Point VFW 6249 and several current lacrosse players. Social studies teacher Mr. Richard Acritelli organized the event that ended with bugler Mr. Greg Efimetz performing “Taps” to honor both a gentleman and a gentle man.
