First-Place in NYS Competition!

Rocky Point High School junior Kaitlyn Tereso earned first place in a SkillsUSA virtual New York State competition.

Kaitlyn, who attends the Eastern Long Island Academy of Applied Technology, where she is a student in the animal science program, was honored at a virtual award ceremony for her first-place win in the Medical Math contest, where she was challenged to demonstrate her knowledge of general math concepts used in the healthcare fields. She completed a written test that included the use of ratio/proportion, dosage calculation, metric equivalents, Roman numerals, abbreviations, and general math including percentages, among other medical math-related problems.

She was also congratulated by Rocky Point High School Principal Jonathan Hart for this exceptional honor.
