The Rocky Point School District continues to recognize that a healthy school breakfast helps ensure students’ academic success.
With Mrs. Maureen Branagan, director of child nutrition, at the helm,
students throughout the district were encouraged to celebrate National
School Breakfast Week. Students from FJC and JAE were gifted with
coloring sheets and stickers, and those who ate a delicious breakfast
during the week were entered into a random drawing for a prize. Middle
School and High School students completed word puzzles for their prizes.
Daily announcements were made in each school, and all students were
reminded that breakfast and lunch meals are offered at no charge for the
remainder of the school year.
Mrs. Branagan presented the contest winners from each school –
kindergartner Benjamin Rothberg, fifth grader Rashad Thomas, eight
grader Rocco Gandiosi and ninth grader Samantha Castellucci – with a
drawstring backpack filled with fun items.
