To recognize and understand the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., FJC second grade students read a minibiography and completed a graphic organizer titled “If I Met MLK.” Along with teachers Nicole Fernandez, Jennifer Golding, Nichole Schirtzer and Danielle Youngs, the students brainstormed ideas and statements of things they would tell, ask, thank or show Dr. King. In addition, the students took part in a directive drawing process, where they are directed to follow the instructions that resulted in their individual illustrations of Dr. King.
