Dear Parent/Guardian,

On Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 7:30 a.m., we will administer the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude/National Merit Scholarship Qualification Test (PSAT) to all interested students. The examination will serve three purposes

  • -to give tenth & eleventh-grade students experience in college testing;
  • -to provide the counselor, parent/guardian and student with test scores that have a high correlation with the SAT;
  • -to provide an opportunity for eleventh grade-students to compete for National Merit Scholarships;

The cost to take the exam is $20.00. Students who are either enrolled in or eligible to participate in the Federal Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program will have their fee waived (please be sure to fill out the appropriate areas on the online registration form so that eligibility may be verified).

Students with disabilities must have their testing accommodations approved by SSD. If you have not been previously approved, you may take the 2018 PSAT but will not receive testing accommodations. If you have questions, please contact Matthew Poole, Guidance Facilitator @ 631-849-7577.
