Dear Rocky Point Community,

Everyday, through their small gestures and grand actions, the Rocky Point staff demonstrates their commitment to the academic, social and emotional well-being of our district’s young learners. It is through these acts that our students are able to achieve and succeed at record high levels and successfully prepare for the future that awaits.

In honor of the dedicated service provided by our school related professionals, the Rocky Point School District is pleased to celebrate New York State United Teachers’ designated 2016 School-Related Professionals Recognition Day.

SRPs are a dedicated network of professionals who serve as an integral part of our school community. In Rocky Point, the term applies to, but is not limited to, the secretaries who support our buildings’ daily operations; the teaching aides, monitors and paraprofessionals who work side by side with our students to ensure their academic success and safety; the nurses and other health care staff who tend to our students’ and staff’s well-being; the cafeteria workers who prepare and disseminate hundreds of healthy and nutritious meals each day; and our custodians, maintenance and security staff who ensure smooth operations. In short, these employees are ones who provide essential support to all facets of our school system.

Please join the district in paying tribute to these devoted employees this November 15 and thank them for their many years of service to the Rocky Point community. On behalf of the district, I express my gratitude for their unwavering commitment.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael F. Ring
Superintendent of Schools
