Dear Rocky Point Community,

The Rocky Point School District takes great pride in celebrating the numerous accomplishments that our scholars, musicians, athletes and artists achieve within the classroom and performance arenas throughout the school year. These accomplishments are not only the result of hard work, but also of the encouragement our students receive from their immediate and extended support systems.

This May, school districts throughout the nation will take time to celebrate many of the dedicated professionals who help to lay a solid foundation for students’ future success. I encourage all to join our district in marking School Principals’ Day on May 1, National Teacher Appreciation Week from May 2-6, Teacher Appreciation Day on May 3, National School Nutrition Employee Week from May 9-13 and National School Nurse Day on May 11. Additionally, our school transportation company, First Student, has designated one week in May as Employee Appreciation Week.

Within the buildings, our teachers and principals are the keys that unlock inspiration and creativity in our students, while our school nutrition officers, nurses and transportation professionals are committed to ensuring their safety and well-being on a daily basis.

Please join me in celebrating these individuals and all of our dedicated staff members, many of whom have spent their decades-long careers servicing the families of Rocky Point. Together, let’s extend our appreciation to them for their tireless work, service to our community and utmost professionalism.

Sincerely,

Michael F. Ring, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
