Summer Sports Fun

More than 20 students from Rocky Point and the surrounding area had the chance to participate in a spirited summer sports program called Rocky Point Athletes for All.

The free five-week program offered all students the chance to play sports in a non-competitive atmosphere where the emphasis was on exercising and building lasting friendships. Activities included, but were not limited to, baseball, kickball, volleyball, track, soccer, hockey, golf and bowling.

The students, who ranged in grade from three through 12, participated in the program with the help of 20 volunteers and coordinators Peter Costa, an RP teacher, and his wife Jean. All who helped run the program extend a special thanks to the Booster Club and Port Jeff Sports for their donations of shirts and meals, respectively.
