Dear Rocky Point School Community,

Hello again Rocky Point School Community!  This is Scott O’Brien, Superintendent of Schools.  For this weeks’ video I’m here at the Rocky Point Middle School and we miss all of you, our students and staff and having everyone together at school.  I hope you had a chance to view the video messages from our staff that has been posted on the homepage of the website.  Special thanks to our PTA and Rocky Point staff for creating these encouraging messages for our students.

As the Governor announced earlier this week, schools will be closed through April 29th.  Schools will continue to provide virtual learning throughout this time and we ask that you please continue to check your teacher and class eBoards. (The eBoard link is on the school homepage and can be accessed at https://tinyurl.com/rpeboard

Our administrators and teachers have been attending virtual professional development sessions and students will be expected to submit work to teachers in a variety of ways including Google Classroom assignments, Google forms, and through a number of other programs.  These additional virtual experiences will provide our students and parents with feedback on their completed online work.

If you have any questions please email your child’s teacher, principal, or use our website help desk or live phone helpdesk at 631-982-4775. (The link to the online help desk form can be found on the school website on the home page or directly accessed by clicking https://tinyurl.com/rpparenthelp.  The help desk will be open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to noon and from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM.)

Thank you all for working together to support learning for our students throughout the past few weeks.  From our dedicated staff that is committed to keeping learning continuous for our students, to our support staff, custodians, administrators, security guards, food service workers, who are all going above and beyond during these unprecedented times.  Finally, thank you to our families for their continued patience and unwavering support.

Our amazing school community continues to support each other and demonstrate Rocky Point PRIDE in countless ways. (Please remember that it is important to follow the CDC recommendations and practice social distancing.  All school facilities have been closed.)

We hope you and your families are well and we look forward to being back together as soon as possible.  We wish all of our families and staff a Happy Passover and Happy Easter.

Dr. Scott O’Brien, Superintendent of Schools
